Becky Levi has worked in the Sport/Fitness Industry for over 20 years. Becky received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona in 1986. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Becky spent many years competing as an elite level athlete in a number of sports including Track and Field, Olympic Style Weightlifting, Judo, Boxing, and Mixed Martial Arts. Becky was an Olympic alternate in the discus in 1988 and 1992 and was a silver medalist in the first Women’s World Weightlifting Championships. Becky also has spent many years training and coaching both amateur and professional athletes. Becky possesses a very strong injury rehabilitation background as well. Becky is a former high school teacher and has been involved in coaching volleyball, football, wrestling, and track and field. She is the Co-Director of Performance and Sport Performance.

2007 was Derek’s first year in the Health and Fitness field. Derek graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Ball State in Exercise Science in 2007. Derek also holds an Associate’s degree in General Studies from Glen Oaks Community College. As part of his education, Derek also spent significant time completing both practicum and internship hours in the Health and Fitness field.

Kristin is a graduate from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise with an emphasis in Nutrition. During her time at Southern Indiana she was an intern at St. Mary’s Medical Center as an exercise specialist when she performed corporate wellness screenings. Kristin, also played collegiate softball and was named Female Athlete of the Year. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise.

E.J. Whitney has been training athletes and individuals for the past four years. He graduated from Ball State University in 2004. He majored in Exercise Science with minors in Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness for the Older Adult. During his time at Ball State he was a Fitness Instructor at Elmcroft Assisted Living, where he led group exercises. He worked for Professional Sport Specific Training in Sturgis as a Trainer. He also volunteered at Sturgis High School as assistant strength coach. After graduating from Ball State, E.J. moved to Indianapolis where he worked at Acceleration Indiana as a Sport Specific Trainer/Assistant Manager. He then came to Spiece in January of 2006 to work as an Exercise Physiologist. He enjoys long walks in the park, working with older adults as well as athletes of all ages.

Deidre interned at Spiece during the summer of 2008 in the personal training department. She began her employment in January of 2009. She will receive her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Exercise Science and a minor in Strength and Conditioning in May 2009 from Indiana State University. While attending college, Deidre worked at the fitness center on campus and began personal training ISU students and staff. Deidre is currently working towards her CSCS and FMS certifications.
